In April 2002, Helena Paschal founded Correlations as a resource for people to build their skills in communication and leadership.
Helena’s entrepreneurial spirit was first recognized at the age of 7 years old when she would use her allowance and go with her mother to Sam’s Wholesale to buy Snickers, Twix, Laffy Taffy, and Fun Dip and go door-to-door to sell candy to the neighborhood children. Her business was called ‘Helena’s Sweet Shop.’ She learned at an early age the value of working, the basics of making money, and how to create and manage her income.

Helena has always yearned for success and understood that a college education was not optional for her. Helena maintained a full time job throughout her undergraduate years at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where she earned a degree in Speech Communication. A year after graduation she decided to try her entrepreneurial skills again in Mary Kay Cosmetics where she became a Sales Director working in a positive environment of successful women.

While building her business in Mary Kay, Helena continued her education at St. Louis University where she received a Master of Arts in Communication. After receiving her graduate degree she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and quickly recognized the difference between having a business and being a business owner. She brought her career in Mary Kay to an end and began to look into different avenues of becoming a business owner. She realized her education in communication was valuable and could be even more valuable when coupled with experience.

Helena accepted a position supporting a Vice President of a document outsourcing company and is currently working closely with high ranking executives and learning how her skills in communication can become a marketable service. After less than a year in her position, she received the coveted award of “Hometown Hero,” which is an award voted by the people in her department and given to the person who exemplifies honesty, integrity, and excellence. With a Masters Degree in Communication and experience with working with Top Level Executives Helena knows what it takes to succeed. She has recently been promoted to Operations Management after only a year with the company.

Helena uses her communication skills to help individuals and organizations improve their performance, productivity, and leadership skills. With the same passion she had as a child, Helena strives to share her enthusiasm for communication with others. As she speaks to audiences, they can feel her passion as she shares her stories of successes and failures and the excitement she gains from taking risks. Helena knows her life is a blessing and her purpose in life is to share what she has learned with others. She knows when you take time to empower someone that person will in turn enrich the life of someone else.

From this organization along with her mother’s ministry and oldest brother’s support, she plans to start the Helen D. Paschal Scholarship (in memory of her grandmother), which will give financial support to college students majoring in liberal arts. Helena is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of Bishop Eddie Long in Lithonia, Georgia.
